Art Detective is an app for exploring and appreciating famous paintings. We rely on on-device processing and Apple system services wherever possible and follow a data-minimization approach.
On-device app data: Challenge history, collections, gallery progress, experience points, badges, and preferences are primarily stored on your device.
iCloud sync: If enabled, certain app data may sync across your Apple devices through iCloud. We do not operate a separate server to store your iCloud content.
Location and weather: Features such as Art Weather may request location access, with your permission, to retrieve local weather. You can disable location access in system settings at any time. We do not use precise location for advertising or sell it to third parties. Weather data may be provided by Apple WeatherKit.
Diagnostics: Depending on your system analytics settings, Apple may provide crash logs, diagnostics, or performance data. We use this only to troubleshoot issues and improve stability.
When you choose to save artwork, download an image, or import/export content through system photo or file features, Art Detective may request the relevant permission. We use it only to complete actions you initiate and do not scan, upload, or analyze your private photos in the background.
We aim to keep data on your device or within Apple-provided iCloud environments and rely on system security mechanisms. If you delete the app, locally stored data will generally be removed; iCloud data may remain depending on Apple’s data-management behavior and your settings.
Art Detective may use Apple-provided technologies and services, including iCloud, WeatherKit, the App Store, and StoreKit. Data handled by these services is also governed by Apple’s privacy policies and applicable terms.
Art Detective is not specifically designed for children. We do not intentionally request identifiers such as a child’s name, email address, or phone number.
You can manage Art Detective permissions in iOS Settings, including location, photos, notifications, and iCloud. Disabling a permission may prevent the related feature from working but will not affect unrelated features.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product, legal, or platform changes. Significant changes may be communicated through release notes, in-app notices, or another reasonable method.
